奥村家住宅    ーThe Okumura Family Residenceー

奥村家住宅は、奥村家が藍商として経営を発展させた文化年間から明治20年(1887年)頃に建てられた藍屋敷です。
主屋は、棟札から文化5年(1808)に建てられ、文政10年(1827)に2階を継ぎ足す増築がされたことがわかっています。明治20年には西座敷が建てられ、当時の贅を尽くした様子を見ることができます。

主屋は屋敷の北寄りに南面して建ち、中庭を囲むように南と東西の寝床(藍染料の加工場)や奉公人部屋など13棟が建っています。
昭和62年に徳島県の有形文化財(建造物)に指定されています。

The Okumura Family Residence is an indigo merchant's estate built between the Bunka era
when the Okumura family began expanding their indigo business and around 1887 (Meiji20).

According to a plaque on the main house ,the original structure was constructed in 1808.
The main house faces south and is located in the northern part of the estate.
Surrounding the central courtyard are 13 buildings, including the South and East-West
The residence was designated as a Tangible Cultural Property (Architectural Structure)of Tokushima Prefecture in 1987.
